Courses We Offer
Michigan requires CPL applicants to complete an appropriate pistol safety training course, and the state’s CPL training framework covers safe handling/storage, ammunition and shooting fundamentals, shooting positions, firearms law and civil liability, avoiding criminal attacks/controlling violent confrontations, and Michigan concealed-carry laws.
The established course standard is at least 8 hours of instruction, including 3 hours of range time. We offer the USCCA designed course of Concealed Carry Essentials and Home Defense Fundamentals. We also go over safe and effective ways to do dry-fire practice in class and at home. This topic can be presented in a personalized one on one at-home setting or in a small groups of up to 4 students.
Required Equipment: A reliable handgun, magazines, ammunition, appropriate eye and ear protection. Specific equipment and ammunition requirements will be provided during registration. (**Various Handgun types available for rental upon request for $25 fee**)

“Stop the Bleed” is a hands-on emergency medical training add-on designed to teach students how to recognize and respond to life-threatening bleeding before professional help arrives.
The Stop the Bleed initiative was developed to help everyday people become better prepared to take immediate action during a bleeding emergency. In situations involving severe blood loss, the actions taken by people already at the scene can make a critical difference while emergency medical services are on the way.
Students will learn practical techniques for controlling severe bleeding, including the proper use of direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquets. The class focuses on building the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to take immediate, effective action during a life-threatening emergency.
You do not have to be a medical professional to be prepared to help save a life.

This course is designed to give firearm owners the practical knowledge needed to properly care for, maintain, and securely store their firearms at home and while traveling in a vehicle. With great power comes great responsibility and owning a firearm comes with the responsibility of keeping it in safe, reliable condition while preventing unauthorized access.
This hands-on course covers routine firearm maintenance, cleaning and inspection, storage options, and practical considerations for securing firearms around the home and in vehicles. We’ll also discuss different holster options for men and women, off-body carry solutions, and practical considerations for carrying and securing a firearm while keeping it appropriately accessible.
Training includes:
Fundamental firearm safety procedures and safe handling during maintenance
Basic field stripping and reassembly of common firearm types
Proper cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance practices for different firearm types
Identifying common signs of excessive wear, damage, or potential maintenance concerns
Selecting appropriate firearm-cleaning tools, supplies, and equipment
Understanding different home-storage options, including safes, lockboxes, locking cabinets, and other security devices
Balancing secure storage with accessibility for defensive firearms
Preventing unauthorized access by children, guests, or other individuals
Vehicle firearm-storage options and considerations
Protecting firearms from theft, moisture, corrosion, and environmental damage
Developing responsible storage practices for everyday firearm ownership
Required Equipment: Students are encouraged to bring an unloaded firearm they would like to become more familiar with maintaining. Examples can also be made available for demonstration. Cleaning equipment may be brought to class or provided for demonstration. Specific equipment requirements and firearm-handling procedures can be discussed before the session.

Our Basic Handgun Training course is designed for new and developing shooters who want to become more comfortable and confident with a handgun for home or self-defense or recreational shooting including how to draw from a holster and the best ways to conceal carry comfortably while keeping it easily accessible.
Training includes classroom instruction and live-fire range exercises covering:
Firearm safety essentials and proper range procedures
Handgun components, operation, and basic maintenance
Proper grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control
Loading, unloading of magazines and proper ammunition selection
Malfunction recognition and basic clearance techniques
Basic accuracy drills for the range and how to practice dry-fire safely at home
Sight/optic usage and the benefits of adding a red dot on a handgun
How to draw from a holster, different types including bags and the do and don'ts of carry
Safe firearm storage at home and in a vehicle, including appropriate procedures and equipment
Required Equipment: A handgun (semi-auto or revolver), magazines, ammunition, appropriate eye and ear protection. Specific equipment and ammunition requirements will be provided during registration. Various handgun types are available for rent upon request for additional charge.
Our beginner-to-intermediate Rifle & Carbine Training course focuses on safe firearm handling, proper equipment setup, and developing confident, practical shooting skills.
Training includes classroom instruction and live-fire range exercises covering:
Firearm handling and range safety procedures
Proper stance, grip, sight alignment, and trigger control
Optic zeroing and basic sight/optic fundamentals
Loading and unloading of magazines including proper ammunition selection
Malfunction recognition and proper clearance procedures
Cleaning and proper maintenance practices and gear
Required Equipment: A reliable rifle or carbine, magazines, ammunition, two-point sling, and appropriate eye and ear protection. Specific equipment and ammunition requirements will be provided during registration.
Recommended for: Beginner to intermediate shooters looking to build a solid foundation in rifle/carbine safety, handling, and marksmanship or increase their level of knowledge and confidence with their chosen platform.
Our Shotgun Fundamentals course is designed for new and developing shooters who want to build confidence and become more comfortable with the safe operation and handling of a shotgun. The course provides a practical foundation in shotgun safety, operation, ammunition selection, recoil management, and fundamental shooting skills.
Training includes classroom instruction and live-fire range exercises covering:
Firearm handling techniques and range safety practices
Proper stance, grip, loading, unloading, and ammunition types for different uses
Sight alignment, target acquisition and recoil control techniques
Malfunction drills and safe clearing procedures
Practical shooting drills designed to build confidence and consistency
Required Equipment: A reliable shotgun (Pump or Semi-auto), appropriate ammunition, eye and ear protection. Specific equipment and ammunition requirements will be provided during registration. We have multiple examples of both pump-action and semi-automatic shotguns available for demonstration in the classroom and on the range.
Recommended for: Anyone looking to learn how to handle a shotgun safely and smartly. We go over everything a new or developing shotgun owner needs to know to build confidence, improve fundamental shooting skills, and develop safe and responsible shotgun-handling skills for recreation or home defense.
